888starz for Android punters who bet in play
888starz makes most sense for an Android punter who bets during matches and wants live scores, moving odds and past slips in one app.
Before signing up from South Africa, note two points. The welcome page offers a sports package and a casino package side by side, so pick the sports one deliberately. The brand also lacks a South African licence, and iPhone owners use the mobile website.
Suits in-play Android punters who track every open leg in the bet history
Check first if an App Store download or a provincial licence is non-negotiable
- Sports welcome kept apart from the casino deal
- Live scores and bet history inside the Android app
- Multi-LIVE screen beside the Sports and Live menus
- A dedicated esports section
- Provincial boards have never licensed it
- iPhones run 888starz in the browser
- APK install needs the Install unknown apps setting
Is 888starz legit for South African sign-ups?
888starz has no licence from a South African provincial board, and a search of the NGB's verified operators finds nothing under its name. Its international site handles 888starz South Africa registrations and keeps the balance in rand.
The NGB's stance is that nobody in the Republic is permitted to place bets with a foreign-based operator. Our explainer on how provincial licensing applies to sites like 888starz sets the system out in full.
So the 888starz terms govern your account. Read the withdrawal and verification clauses before your first deposit, because those rules apply when you ask for money back or upload documents.

888starz 200% sports welcome bonus
200% sports welcome + 200% casino & 150 free spins
Two packages share the 888starz welcome page: a 200% sports welcome and a casino offer with its own free spins. The sports one has a separate promotion page listing its rollover, minimum odds and time limit.
Soccer, cricket and rugby punters tick the sports option at sign-up, since the casino package comes with different rules and free spins of its own. At 200%, a R400 deposit becomes R1,200 of betting money.
Check the turnover figure on that sports promotion page before depositing. It shows how much you have to bet before the bonus turns into withdrawable cash.

888starz Multi-LIVE screen and live scores
- Accas
- Live betting
- eSports
The 888starz sportsbook runs three menus, Sports, Live and Multi-LIVE, and gives esports a section of its own. Multi-LIVE lines up several in-play matches side by side, so a Saturday of Premier League and PSL kick-offs fits on one screen.
In the Android app, live scores, moving odds and your bet history sit together. With three legs of an accumulator still running, the history tab shows which have already won while the live screen tracks the others.
For one game, the single-match screen gets you to the market faster. Across a full weekend card, Multi-LIVE spares you jumping between matches. Esports punters get prices ahead of each match and while it is played.
888starz APK download and install
Get the 888starz APK from the brand's own site, through the Android button or the mobile application link in the footer. When you open the file, Android asks you to grant your browser the Install unknown apps permission.
After installation, the app logs in with your website account and carries live scores, odds and bet history. Afterwards, revoke that browser permission in settings.
On iPhone, Safari opens 888starz via the mobile website on the same account, which sidesteps any reliance on a regional App Store listing.
The footer keeps the mobile application link on every visit, so a fresh APK is one tap away if you ever have to reinstall.

BetWinner and 1xBet are the closest matches: international bookmakers offering an APK plus live tabs, and absent from every provincial list.
BetWinner asks new players to pick between its sports and casino offers. 1xBet brings goal notifications and 2FA. 888starz answers with a stand-alone 200% sports welcome and its Multi-LIVE screen.
Under the two 200% offers, a R400 first deposit earns R800 of bonus at 888starz and the same at 1xBet.
